Through the DF School of Government (Egov), the departments of Economy (Seec) and Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti) promote, from June 4th to 6th this year, the 2nd Innovation Week. The debates and lectures will be based on the theme “Care”, referring to the rights and needs of all people, fundamental for the well-being and functioning of societies and economies.

To achieve this approach objective, the event will explore the subject from the perspective of management and public innovation, discussing the role of the community, the State, the market and companies in the provision of care, in addition to highlighting opportunities and challenges that will shape the future of public services.

During the program, there will be a presentation of successful projects and an exchange of experiences that can influence the public sector, showing how innovation can suggest new ways for governments to take care of their citizens.

Public sector innovation

“In the first Innovation Week, we discussed methodologies for working on innovation in the public sector, especially in the GDF”, explains the executive director of Egov, Juliana Tolentino. “Now, we have the opportunity to welcome civil servants, academics and students to a debate on diversity and inclusion, citizenship and hospitality, management and public service and also social, environmental and governance sustainability. The richness of these themes shows how hard the current administration works to always guarantee the best for citizens.”

The initiative has the support of the Secretariat for Social Development (Headquarters), the Executive Secretariat for Valorization and Quality of Life (Sequali, linked to Seec) and GNova – Government Innovation Laboratory, of the National School of Public Administration (Enap) .

“The idea is to hold an event with simultaneous activities throughout the school over the three days”, summarizes special advisor Mariana Rodrigues, who coordinates the event. “More than 100 activity proposals were received in the public call we opened. We will encourage networking and the exchange of experiences with the aim of influencing the system and showing how innovation can revolutionize the way the GDF cares for the population”.

The writer Malu Lira, creator of financial education content, is one of the confirmed presences among the speakers, in addition to the coordinator of the Aurora Innovation Laboratory (of the Court of Justice of the Federal District/TJDF), Mariana Bicalho, and the co-founder of the program i .LAB Open Acceleration, Antônio Isidro. The full schedule will be released soon on the Egov website.
