Roraima was without internet connection for at least 14 hours and the call service was interrupted from the afternoon of Tuesday (7) until the early hours of Wednesday (8) after the optical fiber broke. This was the seventh time the state faced the problem this year.
The service was interrupted at around 2pm, at 4pm it resumed operations with instability, but then, around 6pm, it fell again and partially returned at 4am on that Wednesday. This morning, there are still reports of unstable connection and telephone calls.
The only company responsible for providing fiber internet to Roraima, Oi has not yet responded about what happened this time. g1 requested positioning and is awaiting a response. The last breakout was on April 2nd.
With this Tuesday’s disruption, internet access service was rendered impossible on cell phones and computers, which affected access to websites and systems such as banking transactions. In addition, telephone operators also reported service instability.
The National Education and Research Network (RNP) website, which tracks connection traffic information across the country, indicated that fiber instability occurred between Roraima and Amazonas.
