Free tours to take with children in Rio de Janeiro

-

Have the kids at home and don’t want to put your hand in your pocket? No problem, Rio de Janeiro offers several fun options for kids. In this post we will give four tips, but of course we will not go through the more traditional ones, which involve going to beaches and public parks because the tourist had certainly already thought about that. Let’s go discover the free tours with children in Rio de Janeiro?

Free Tours in Rio de Janeiro

Museum of Communications and Humanities

Located in Flamengo between the Largo do Machado and Catete metro stations, this can be an excellent option for interactive actions. In addition to having more than 130,000 items from the history of telecommunications (the space is maintained by Oi), they offer an immersive room with mirrors and lights (Roda) and a hyper-reality experience: a balloon flight.

Operation: Futures – Art and Technology – Wednesday to Sunday, from 11am to 8pm. Musehum – Communications and Humanities Museum (located on the 6th floor of Futuros) – Wednesday to Sunday, from 11am to 6pm, with entry allowed until 5:30pm.

Location: Rua Dois de December, 63 – Flamengo.

Earth Science Museum

If the children (of all ages) in your group are dinosaur fans, this is the one to choose. The Museum has several replicas of dinosaur skeletons, as well as collections of rocks, fossils, meteorites and much more. In total, there are more than 10,000 samples of minerals and meteorites, in addition to 12,000 rocks and 35,000 cataloged fossils.

Operation: Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm

Location: Av. Pasteur, 404 – Urca.

Museum of Life (Fiocruz)

This tour is also a two-in-one combo. In addition to visiting the museum itself, it is also worth visiting the historic Fiocruz castle. In fact, the building itself is worth the visit and if you were passing through an Eastern European country, it would certainly be on your list, but as it is in Rio, few people give the space the value it deserves. The Museum of Life itself is a space to spark curiosity and talk about science in small, everyday details. It is also super interactive and delights many children.

Operation: Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 4:30pm. Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Does not work on holidays.

Location: Av. Brasil, 4363, Manguinhos.

Light Cultural Center

Since we’re talking about science, let’s move on to electricity and electromagnetism? This space from Rio’s light energy company talks about electricity as a whole, in addition to working on consumption awareness and waste reduction.

Operation: Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm.

Location: Av. Marechal Floriano, 168.

Take note

The excuse to go on trips with children in Rio is over, right? All attractions have an educational and interactive approach, making it much more fun for little ones. And best of all, they are all free tours with children in Rio de Janeiro
