Two students died in a traffic accident this Saturday (04), around 9 pm, in Jaguaré, a municipality in the North of Espírito Santo. According to the Military Police, the accident was caused by the vehicle tipping over. A third victim suffered injuries, was rescued and taken to Roberto Silvares Hospital, in São Mateus.
The two fatal victims were Graziela Segantini Corrêia and Gabrielly Alves dos Santos, students of the integrated technical course in Mining, at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes), in Nova Venécia. Upon arriving to respond to the incident, the Military Police looked for the driver of the vehicle, but he was not at the scene of the accident.
The group was traveling on the road towards the community of Jirau, when the driver lost control on a sharp curve and fell the car into a stream on the banks of the road, the Military Police said in a statement.
The bodies of the fatal victims, the two students, were sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) of Linhares, for a cadaver examination, which will identify the cause of death, reported the Scientific Police (PCIES). The case will be forwarded to the Jaguaré Police Station, according to the Civil Police.
On social media, Ifes, Campus Nova Venécia, lamented the loss of the students. “We communicate, with deep regret, the passing of Graziela Segantini Corrêia and Gabrielly Alves dos Santos. Our campus sympathizes with all family and friends”, says the publication.
