One sinister (accident) on BR-226, on Friday (3), between Darcinópolis (TO) and Palmeiras do Tocantins (TO), involving two trucks, left two people dead and another seriously injured, according to the Federal Highway Police (PRF ).
Also according to the Corporation, due to the collision, traffic was left on half a lane. The head-on collision occurred around 10am. The vehicles were badly destroyed.
According to the PRF, the fatal victims were trapped in the hardware; They are a man, identified as Agnaldo Olivares, aged 52, and a woman, identified as Daniela Damas Olivares, aged 34.
The person who was injured was rescued and taken to a local hospital. Due to the proximity to Maranhão, a team from the Fire Department of Estreito (MA) took part in assisting the victims.
According to the PRF, the highway was only fully reopened around 8pm on Friday (3). The Civil Police will carry out investigations into the accident.
