After four years without being held, the Salvador-Mutá Regatta returned to the state’s nautical tourism calendar, last Saturday (27), with the participation of 350 sailors from Bahia, Sergipe, São Paulo and Paraná. They made the 45-kilometer journey through the waters of Baía de Todos-os-Santos, including sightseeing tours of the region, before and after the competition.

Marina da Penha, in Ribeira, served as a support base for the race, departing from the capital near Ilha de Maré. The arrival was at the Mutá dock, in Jaguaripe, with local cultural events during the awards ceremony. The State Tourism Secretariat (Setur-BA), which built the nautical equipment, also sponsored the event, as part of incentive actions for the segment.

“Everyone was missing the regatta, which hadn’t been held since 2019. We returned at a time when Baía de Todos-os-Santos has modern equipment for the boats, offering comfort and safety to sailors, in addition to strengthening the event calendar of the nautical tourism, which has received support from the State Government”, highlighted the competition organizer, Marcelo Fróes.

In Mutá, athletes and companions had a reception at the Hotel Fazenda Recanto, where they stayed overnight. “It was a pleasure to contribute to the success of the regatta, which cannot fail to happen, seeing the beautiful Mutá pier attract tourism. We will always be ready to welcome visitors”, declared the hotel owner, Tânia Andrade.

“We were well received and surprised by the infrastructure. The dock is well installed, offers comfort and safety when disembarking and takes the nautical experience to a new level”, praised sailor Alexandre Caldeira, from Sergipe.

Other events boosted tourism in Bahia, from Friday (26) to Sunday (28), with the support of Setur-BA. In Caminhos do Sertão, the 23rd Irecê Agricultural Fair received almost 30 thousand visitors, with R$50 million in business. On Caminhos do Sudoeste, the 18th Vaquejada de Iuiu took place, which attracted hundreds of residents from neighboring cities. In the same period, there was the “Balanço do Recôncavo”, at Espaço Hansen Bahia, in Cachoeira, with maculelê and capoeira workshops; the Traffic and Life Seminar, at the Municipal Theater of Ilhéus, on Costa do Cacau; and the women’s meeting “Empower yourself in Public Security” and the Cultural Walk Against Religious Intolerance, in Salvador.
