Video that went viral on the internet shows people in Canoas, one of the cities most affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul, holding hands, forming a ‘human chain’ to rescue boats that were stranded while trying to escape the floods.
The week of rain has punished Rio Grande do Sul, where 66 people died and more than a hundred are missing, due to the volume of water and consequent floods that destroy cities, roads and bridges.
