Since the National Identity Card (CIN) began to be issued in Tocantins, in January this year, more than 5,700 people have already requested the service and have the ‘new ID’.
The document replaces the General Registry (RG) and has new features such as the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) number and a QR Code to facilitate identification and give access to the digital version of the identification document.
The data is from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP). It began to be issued in Tocantins on January 12th and as of this Saturday (4), 5,706 identity cards had already been issued in the state.
The CIN is being issued by the states obligatorily, but the population can define when they will make the exchange. The old document can be used until February 28, 2032.
Another important change is that in the new model there will not be a specific number valid only for the CPF.
In Palmas, interested parties must schedule an appointment at the Identification Institute online. In other cities in the State, you can look for identification centers.
The first copy of the CIN is free. Those who have their current ID will also not pay for the exchange. To request the first copy, the citizen must present two 3 x 4 photos, the original document and a copy of the Birth or Marriage Certificate, in addition to the original and a copy of the CPF.
