Since 2019, the Government of Pará has made investments in Ananindeua, in the metropolitan region, which continue to change the lives of those who live in the second most populous municipality in Pará for the better. The delivery of road infrastructure works, reconstruction of schools, among others, has guaranteed development of the region, in addition to reaffirming the State’s commitment to the safety, health and education of the population.

This Saturday, May 4, Governor Helder Barbalho announced that he will sign, next week, the work orders that authorize the construction of two viaducts, one located on Av. Mário Covas with Três Corações and the other on Mário Covas with Av. Independência, both measuring around 40m each, and will be completed by the Construcop30 Consortium, winner of the bidding process.

The two pieces of equipment will mean an investment of around R$70 million and the works should be completed in 12 months. They will be added to the viaducts on Av. Ananin, delivered in July 2023, and the viaducts under construction on Rod. BR-316, at the intersection with Av. Independência and Alça Viária, scheduled to be delivered in December this year .

“These viaducts will add to other State investments to increasingly improve the quality of life of the population of Ananindeua and the Metropolitan Region. They will be fundamental in the mobility project for COP 30”, says the head of the State Executive.

The works will be carried out by the Metropolitan Transport Management Center (NGTM) and are part of the set of works to improve mobility in the metropolitan region of Belém. “Studies have shown the need for construction at these intersections. With the new viaducts, traffic will be able to flow both for those accessing the neighborhoods of Ananindeua, and for those who live in Ananindeua and need to go to the center of Belém”, explains the head of the State Department of Transport (Setran), Adler Silveira.

More infrastructure – It is worth remembering that the work on Av. Ananin, started by NGTM at the end of 2021, had a total investment of around R$25 million. The road is 1.8 km long, double lane, cycle path, accessible sidewalk, pedestrian crossings, shelters for bus passengers and landscaping with several mango trees, ipe trees, açaí trees and ananin tree, which gives the avenue its name.

The construction followed all environmental criteria, being one of the few roads in the metropolitan region with a green area of native forest. In addition to making the connection between the largest travel generating hub in the municipality of Ananindeua to the Metropolitan BRT Integration Terminal, under construction, the road was used for one of the BR’s drainage launches. With Ananin ready, the population also gained infrastructure, enabling better provision of public services such as access for ambulances and garbage collection vehicles around the road.

At the time, vehicle traffic was also released on the Quatro Pétalas viaduct, at KM-07 of the BR-316 highway, which is connected to Av. Ananin in the direction of Marituba-Belém and to the Ananindeua Integration Terminal in the direction of Belém-Marituba. In the latter, bus access will only be released with the completion of the BRT works.

Around 110 cubic meters of compacted land were used to create the viaduct loops, which are 5.5 meters high and 60 meters long.

Education – In six years, the Ananindeua state education network had nine schools completely rebuilt, modernized with laboratories, air-conditioned environments and multi-sports courts, and returned to the school community: Romulo Maiorana, Zulima Vergolino Dias, Professor Maria Araújo de Figueiredo, Maguari, Oneide de Souza Tavares, Rui Barata, Walter Bezerra Falcão, Luiz Nunes Direito and Prof. Manoel Saturnino. At the Laércio Barbalho Municipal School, the state government implemented the Military Educational Supervision Program (Sume), which aims to prevent violence and strengthen the school institution as a space to prepare young people for the future.

Higher Education in the municipality also received a long-awaited reinforcement with the delivery of the Ananindeua campus at the beginning of this year, 2024. The building was built on an area of 792 m² and has an infrastructure consisting of five classrooms, a computer laboratory , a multidisciplinary laboratory, two administration rooms, two bathrooms and an external area with a security guard and parking for 25 public cars.

Health – The Metropolitan Hospital for Urgency and Emergency (HMUE), a reference for complex trauma care, received new equipment from the State Department of Health of Pará (Sespa) to expand the modernization of the surgical center’s technology park. During the historic Covid-19 health crisis, the Government of Pará guaranteed ten beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) exclusively for the treatment of patients with the disease at the Hospital das Clínicas de Ananindeua to relieve the municipal hospital network.

Sanitation – Approximately two kilometers long, the Canal das Toras waterfront, in Ananindeua, was handed over to the population in May 2022. The structure connects Rua Dois de Junho – the main road in the Águas Brancas neighborhood – to the avenue main area of the Aurá neighborhood. Both received road infrastructure services, providing urban mobility for those traveling through the area.

Another delivery made was the Maguariaçu Canal, which received rainwater drainage services, earthworks, asphalt paving, road signage and sidewalks, to provide road infrastructure, more security and urban mobility for those traveling through the area.

The channel’s margins are approximately 2.3 km long and provide the connection between TV WE 31, in the Cidade Nova 5 complex, to Cavalcante Street, which connects the Centro and Guajará neighborhoods.

A new blood collection unit from the Fundação Centro de Hemoterapia e Hematologia do Pará (Fundação Hemopa) was delivered to the municipality, which represents the expansion of the blood network in Pará.

Adapted to sanitary hygiene standards, the New Municipal Market of Icuí-Guajará was also delivered, ensuring food security in Ananindeua. The work was carried out in partnership with the city hall.

In this sense, the circulation areas within the Plant and Assistance buildings have natural lighting and ventilation.

Designed within the concept of sustainability, the Plant has sewage treatment plants and, within the policy of neutralizing carbon emissions generated during the construction phase, Vale planted 200 seedlings at the unit.
