Aloe vera, also known as Aloe succotrina and Aloe vera, is known for its numerous health and beauty benefits. With high levels of amino acids, minerals and vitamins, it is popularly known as “the plant of immortality”. Its effects range from calming, healing and anti-inflammatory properties to its power as an excellent moisturizer for skin and hair.

For the skin

Aloe vera gel, extracted directly from the plant or present in cosmetic products, has been widely used throughout history to treat various skin problems. In addition to helping with wound healing, aloe vera gel is also known for its ability to hydrate the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Its anti-aging, anti-acne and anti-inflammatory effects are well documented, as is its effectiveness in relieving sunburn, insect bites and eczema. Furthermore, aloe vera can be used to remove makeup. Check out recipes:

  1. Aloe and Cucumber Mask: Mix aloe vera gel with cucumber slices and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply to skin and leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing with water.

For hair

In addition to its benefits for the skin, aloe vera is also excellent for hydrating and strengthening hair. Its regenerating properties act as natural antioxidants, rehydrating strands and closing damaged hair cuticles. Check out recipes:

  1. Hydration Mask with Aloe Vera: Apply aloe vera gel directly to your hair, before or after washing, for hydrated and healthy hair.
