During his historic show The Celebration Tour in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Madonna made a point of paying homage to some Brazilian personalities, including Renato Russo It is Sandra Brea.

This is a common practice for the queen of pop, who, throughout her “Celebration Tour” shows, pays homage to people who died from AIDS or complications caused by the disease during the performance of “Live to Tell”. In Brazil, Madonna decided to add some Brazilian singers among those honored, such as Renato Russo.

The singer Renato Russo, leader of the rock band Legião Urbana, was also remembered by the queen of pop. The artist became known for his poetic and profound lyrics, which addressed themes such as love, politics, society and existentialism. His premature death, at the age of 36, due to complications related to HIV, left a huge impact on Brazilian music and culture.

Sandra Brea was a Brazilian actress who died in 2000, at the age of 47 due to lung cancer. She was a notable figure on Brazilian television, cinema and theater in the 1970s and 1980s, and participated in several successful soap operas, such as The Beloved, Stone Jungle and Living Water.
