This was the first delivery of the purchase of 12.5 million doses from Moderna, scheduled to be delivered in 2024. According to the Ministry of Health, the distribution of vaccines from this first batch should take place in the next few days, but the date has not been announced. According to the ministry, the next batch should arrive in Brazil this week, containing 1 million more vaccines.
The pharmaceutical company obtained authorization to apply the vaccine in March this year. Then, during the purchasing process, there was a dispute between Pfizer and Moderna for the contract with the federal government. The final agreement was signed last month.
