The Senate approved, last Tuesday (30), the bill that establishes a ceiling of R$ 15 billion for tax incentives for Perse (Emergency Program for the Resumption of the Events Sector), created to help the sector during the pandemic of covid-19.

The text also foresees a reduction in the types of services benefited, from 44 to 30.

PL (Bill) 1,026/24 was approved with wording changes and goes to presidential sanction.

The project, by deputies José Guimarães (PT-CE) and Odair Cunha (PT-MG), was presented as an alternative to the text of MP 1.202/24, which extinguished the program, and which generated a reaction from parliamentarians and the sector.

The part about Perse ended up being removed from the MP, approved by a joint committee. The initial text of the bill progressively reduced tax benefits until they were extinguished from 2027 onwards.

The text approved by the Senate brings the changes made in the Chamber and 2 changes suggested by the rapporteur, senator Daniella Ribeiro (PSD-PB). For the senator, the approval of the project benefits thousands of citizens who are directly and indirectly benefited by the program.
