Chosen to be a Multishow reporter at Madonna’s megashow this Saturday (4), Marcus Majella made a point of avoiding criticism directed at the influencers who covered Carnival 2024 on Globo. In his first appearance at the event, the comedian made it clear that he is not a journalist. “I’m here representing the fans,” he explained.

“I’m here in a strategic place, between the VIP area and the fans. In a little while, I’ll talk to everyone. Remembering that I’m not a presenter, huh, guys?”, pointed out Ferdinando’s interpreter at Vai que Cola.

“I’m not like those f*ck people, no. They study a lot to talk about Madonna!”, highlighted Majella, referring to Laura Vicente and Gui Guedes, who lead the party at Multishow and Globoplay, and Marcos Mion and Kenya Sade, who broadcast on Globo.

Without wasting time, the actor released a joke in which he pretended to be a journalist — to prove that he was there to entertain the public. “I just received some hot news here from RioTur and Rio de Janeiro City Hall, which I have to pass on to you. It’s as follows: confirming an average of 3.7 thousand queers per car disembarking at the Copacabana subway every second”, he said.

“So, you can imagine, there are queers on top of the tree, there are queers rolling around in the sand, doing the breaded steak line, there are queers of all types, there’s the standard one, there’s the poc, there’s the chick, there’s the X queue -Men: Evolution, you will see everything here in Copacabana. We only count four heterosexuals here in Copacabana!

Afterwards, he interviewed his friend Luis Lobianco and Camila Pitanga, who were in the audience. When questioning the songs that could not be missing from the presentation and listening to a list of hits, he joked. “They know everything, they know more than me!”, he was amused.

No Carnival error

Globo was heavily criticized for casting influencers and actors to replace journalists at this year’s Carnival. Displaced, the “reporters for a day” didn’t know important people from the samba schools, they didn’t know how to explain what was presented at the Sambadrome and they didn’t even manage to interview famous people in the festivities’ boxes.

Public and critics criticized the broadcast directed by Boninho, who seemed not to care about the negative opinions. He made light of it and stated that he was satisfied with his own work. “I’m the director, I’m loving everything. I don’t care about the criticism”, he said in a statement to Veja.
