Investing.com – Investors’ attention will be on Brazilian inflation and interest rates next week. While the Monetary Policy Committee () of the Central Bank decides whether to cut on Wednesday, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) reveals the Broad Consumer Price Index () on Friday. Furthermore, large banks, telecommunications companies and retailers release their balance sheets in a week full of quarterly indicators in Brazil and the United States.

Local calendar

The week begins with data from S&P Global’s Composite PMI on Monday, in addition to fiscal statistics from the Central Bank. On Tuesday, the two-day monetary policy meeting begins at the BC, with a decision scheduled for Wednesday night. Still on Wednesday, , , production and sales of vehicles are on the agenda, as well as Reuters.

Asa Investments’ expectation for the Selic is a cut of 0.25 percentage points, leading to a terminal rate of 9.75% in 2024. “Worsening expectations, very gradual slowdown in the services core and strong pace of domestic activity should prevent further cuts in the basic interest rate in the current cycle”, points out the macro team.

International Calendar

The second will be in the Euro Zone. European ones come out on Tuesday, in addition to Chinese and UK ones on Thursday. To close the week, , and the United Kingdom mark the sixth, the same date as inflation data for the Chinese consumer and producer.

The week will be full of corporate balance sheets, with emphasis on Itaú Unibanco, Banco do Brasil, Tim and Vivo.

On Thursday, data from CSN (BVMF:), Suzano (BVMF:), B3 (BVMF:), Sabesp (BVMF:), Magazine Luiza (BVMF:), C&A (BVMF:) and Petz (BVMF:) will be presented. while M.Dias Branco (BVMF:) brings the balance sheet on Friday
